"In 15 minutes Jesus was driven away by some nice and polite police officers."
He wasn't wearing the appropriate attire to visit Bethel, it makes sense now!
Great post Gorbatchov!
it was not long after the official governing body dedication of the warwick property, that a tall straight man, dressed in plain white, with half long hair and a beard, checked in at the security officer at the gate of the property.. "sir, what's your name and what's your purpose of your visit?
" asked the security guy.. "brother, i am here for a long expected visit".. "do you have an appointment?
and who is your contact here?

revelation 11:18 that "god will destroy those who.
destroy the earth.
do you believe that polluters will literally be destroyed ?.
Revelation 11:18 doesn't apply to the WT because well it just doesn't. Actually anything in the bible that might actually show that WT is wrong doesn't apply, they have a get-out-of-jail-free-whenever card directly from the man upstairs. Psych (sike)!
i had an interesting conversation with bobby (*some names have been changed) last weekend.
he's also a successful fader going back several years before me.
but i found we had something in common that i hadn't realized.. bobby had never been particularly happy growing up.
Billy, awesome post! I relate 200% as being in did undoubtedly emotionally damage us at one point or another. The hardest part had to be (for me) the point between learning TTAT and deciding what to do about it. The questions that flood the mind are exasperating and the feeling of having wasted sooooooo much time and energies on empty promises is heart wrenching to say the least.
But,
The feeling after you've decided what to do with this new found info is liberating, I've never been to jail but I imagine leaving/fading the JW's has to feel similar to walking past the guards as they buzz your cell doors open- delicious. Sometimes reflecting back on time lost I get that familiar feeling of living once again back on Depressame street but in those moments I can only remember being lied to is no fun. I raise a glass to all those free and to all those fighting the "negative nancy" within.
Oh and I'm still getting the panda, even if it's not in the "panda-petting paradise."
don't we all try to reconnect with old friends?
faded jw friends?
all those memories and years gone by....... .
Damn Terry, you're a wordsmith! Thanks for sharing.
i've been active on the jwr site for a few months now and thought i'd introduce myself here, as well.
long story short we served in ecuador and south korea, and in several "need greater" (vomit) places in the usa.
we got our necks cut off for putting ourselves out there, which was a good thing in the end, since it helped us to see that the gb is self-serving.
Welcom XPINE, sorry you got screwed by the bros too- here's to wishing for a better tomorrow.
i've always suspected this was the wt society's view when i was in the jehovah's witness organization - but never knew the head of the writing committee karl adams had written a letter to nathan knorr ( then wt president ) recommending a change regarding reporting field service time as it wrongly emphasized jw members being seen as mainly being approved due to field service statistics - instead of emphasizing christian qualities of love, kindness, peace, etc.. karl adams had been personally handpicked by nathan knorr to be the head of the writing department.
in 1971 he wrote a letter to knorr which he wanted shared with the entire governing body as well .
i'll share the main parts of that letter.. on pg.
Awesome IownMylife! That one's great too..
an aussie friend of mine once summed life up in this phrase:.
we are all food for worms.. .
so, now outside the wt mindset, what is your view on life purpose?.
My purpose now:
1. Love
2. Live
3. Laugh
4. Repeat
ok, i hate to admit this but, im running out of ideas of things to do to the local jaydubs.
i mean yeah, knockin on their doors and showing up and taking books from the kh is fun and all, but kinda gettin stale.
my next big one is gonna be at the next memorial, where im gonna wear a big wool jacket and top hat as i chug the wine and eat the bread, then stand up and yell "praise the lord im healed!
I always wanted to use a loudspeaker in the KH during the WT study on one of my comments, no need for mics and annoying.
mine: i was walking around a grocery store with one of those snapple iced tea boxes dangling from one hand, looking for the other thing i ran in to buy.
suddenly the flimsy cardboard side of the box came unglued, and bottles dumped out, smashing open on the floor.
a river of iced tea began to run down the aisle.
When my brother and I were younger we had a little incident at out local Food-4-Less. They had this display set up right by the entrance of the store and my bro and I were rough housing (like always). He pushed me, I pushed back, he got me back and then finally I pushed harder sending him right into this pyramid of 2 liter soda bottles. To say the explosions of soda we caused was epic is not doing my story justice but....IT WAS EPIC. Ma was a few buttons away from murdering us and the poor clerk that came to clean up the sea of soda looked like he was willing to help her. Fun times.
